Buffalo Sabres forward Evander Kane is out for the remainder of the season with an upper-body injury, the team announced Thursday.
Kane sustained the injury in a 3-2 loss to the Detroit Red Wings on March 28, leaving after the second period. The injury will require 3-4 weeks of recovery time.
Kane is fifth on Buffalo with 35 points (20 goals, 15 assists).
The Sabres host the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday (7 p.m. ET; BELL TV, MSG-B, TSN4, NHL.TV).
