BRAMPTON, Ont. - Ethan Werek scored a pair of goals and added an assist as the Kingston Frontenacs cruised to a 5-1 win over the Brampton Battalion in Ontario Hockey League action Thursday night.

Kingston jumped out to an early 1-0 lead 4:32 into the game on a short-handed effort from Erik Gudbranson, who took a feed from Werek and beat Patrick Killeen on a high wrist shot.

The Battalion power-play rebounded later in the period, tying things up at the 17:56 mark, when Ken Peroff's low shot from the point trickled through Tyler Beskorowany's pads.

The Frontenacs (9-11-2) regained the lead with 13 seconds left in the opening period. Kaine Geldart converted a Zach Harnden pass for his first goal in a Kingston uniform.

That was the last goal Kingston would need, as Werek's two goals and a third-period marker from Harnden rounded out the scoring.

Beskorowany made 21 saves for Kingston.

Killeen surrendered five goals on 26 shots fro Brampton (8-10-2) before being replaced. Jacob Riley stopped all 10 shots he faced in relief.
