SASKATOON - Emerson Etem's seventh goal of the series was the game-winner and Tyler Bunz made 32 saves as the Medicine Hat Tigers finished a sweep of the Saskatoon Blades with a dominant 5-0 win in Western Hockey League playoff action Wednesday.
Once Emerson scored the Tigers' first goal late in the second period, Medicine Hat refused to back down. Curtis Valk added two goals and an assist for Medicine Hat, with Dylan Bredo and Scott McKay also scoring.
Saskatoon was unable to find its way back into the game as Bunz turned aside everything the Blades threw at him.
Blades goaltender Andrey Makarov stopped 23 of 28 shots in the loss.
The Blades were undisciplined, giving up six man-advantage chances to the Tigers. Medicine Hat was only able to capitalize once on Valk's second goal.
Saskatoon failed to convert on two power play chances.
Etem leads the WHL playoff scoring race with 12 points.
