Dallas Stars forward Loui Eriksson will be almost as much a fan as a player when he skates with new linemate Jaromir Jagr.

"I've played with (Jamie) Benn before, but Jagr is a totally different person to play with. It would be awesome to play with a player like Jagr," Eriksson told the Stars' website Monday. "He can teach me a lot. He's played in the NHL a long time and everyone knows how good he is. It's going to be fun to see how he is in practice and then play with him in games."
Jagr signed with the Stars this offseason as a free agent, and he is likely to take a place on the team's top line alongside Eriksson (71 points) and Benn (63 points), the team's top two returning scorers.
Jagr had 54 points for the Philadelphia Flyers last season.
His arrival is part of a revamp of the Stars' offense which included the signing of wing Ray Whitney and a trade for center Derek Roy, who could join Michael Ryder on the second line. Dallas finished 22nd in the NHL last season with 204 goals, but its power-play percentage of 13.5 was last.
"It's going to be interesting," Eriksson said. "We've got two older guys – Jagr and Whitney – coming in, plus Roy and the other guys. It looks good and it's going to be fun."
