ERIE, Pa. - The Otters scored a season-high in goals in a convincing 9-3 win over the Niagara IceDogs in Ontario Hockey League action Friday night.
Captain Zack Torquato had two goals and an assist for Erie (6-9-3), while Anthony Luciani and Andrew Yogan both scored and had two assists. Mike Cazzola was generous with three assists. Rookie Brady Austin scored his first and second OHL goals. Shawn Szydlowski had a marker and an assist, while Brett Cook and Tyler Hostetter both found the back of the net.
Erie's Jaroslav Janus finished with 23 saves.
Andrew Agozzino led Niagara (6-10-3) with a goal and an assist, while Johnson Andrews and Andrew Fritsch both had markers.
Mark Visentin and Petteri Simila combined to stop 26 shots.
The Otters scored their most goals since a 9-5 win against Windsor on Jan. 18, 2008.
The win capped an emotional week, which featured the return of goaltender Jaroslav Janus from the American Hockey League's Norfolk Admirals and the season-long suspension of winger Michael Liambas.
