Enroth, Sabres shut out Hurricanes; J. Staal injured @NHLdotcom

Jhonas Enroth made 35 saves, including 17 in the third period, and the Buffalo Sabres shut out the Carolina Hurricanes 2-0 at First Niagara Center on Tuesday.

Drew Stafford and Tyler Ennis scored 6:16 apart in the second period and assisted on each other's goals. Matt Moulson had two assists.

Carolina Hurricanes center Jordan Staal broke a bone in his right leg when he was hit by Buffalo defenseman Josh Gorges in the third period. Staal will return to Raleigh, N.C., with the team Wednesday and be evaluated Thursday. A recovery timetable was not revealed.

Anton Khudobin stopped all nine shots he faced for Carolina. Drew MacIntyre made 10 saves.
