The New York Islanders got a shoutout from the World's Most Famous Building on Thursday.

The Empire State Building lit up in blue and orange to celebrate the Islanders' 50th anniversary ahead of their season opener against the Florida Panthers at UBS Arena.

In 1972, the Islanders joined the NHL as an expansion team.
The Empire State Building had fun with Islanders mascot Sparky participating in the viral stare off TikTok trend to celebrate the occasion.

Blue and orange looks great in the New York City skyline.
