Bemstrom out 6-8 weeks for Blue Jackets with dislocated rib

Emil Bemstrom will be sidelined 6-8 weeks for the Columbus Blue Jackets with a dislocated rib and broken cartilage.

The 20-year-old rookie forward missed a 5-2 win at the Washington Capitals on Monday after he was injured in a 4-1 loss at the Florida Panthers on Saturday.

Chosen by the Blue Jackets in the fourth round (No. 117) of the 2017 NHL Draft, Bemstrom has nine points (three goals, six assists) in 28 games.

Columbus (12-14-4) plays the Pittsburgh Penguins at PPG Paints Arena on Thursday (7 p.m. ET; ESPN+, ATTSN-PT, FS-O, NHL.TV).
