OWEN SOUND, Ont. - Ryan Ellis and Taylor Hall each scored twice and added an assist on Friday night as the Windsor Spitfires recovered from a 4-1 deficit to down the Owen Sound Attack 7-5 and take a 2-0 lead in their Ontario Hockey League conference quarter-final series.
After trailing 3-0 after five minutes and 4-1 by the end of the first period, Windsor scored six straight goals, led by the six combined points from Ellis and Hall. Rob Kwiet had a goal and an assist and Dale Mitchell also scored in that span for the Spitfires, who outshot Owen Sound 71-31, with at least 22 Windsor shots in each period. Justin Shugg scored in the first and Andrei Loktionov added three assists.
Joey Hishon scored twice for the Attack, while Garrett Wilson and Mike Lomas had a goal and an assist each. Milan Doczy also scored.
