Elliott's 25 saves lead Blues past Stars @NHLdotcom

Brian Elliott made 25 saves for the St. Louis Blues in a 4-1 preseason win against the Dallas Stars at American Airlines Center on Tuesday.

Dallas forward Jamie Benn played 17:44 in his preseason debut. The Art Ross Trophy winner had surgeries on his hips during the offseason.

Mattias Janmark gave the Stars a 1-0 lead 3:46 into the second period.

Dmitrij Jaskin, Vladimir Tarasenko and Scottie Upshall scored in the second period for St. Louis (3-2-0), and Troy Brouwer had a third-period goal. Defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk had two assists.

Antti Niemi made 24 saves for Dallas (1-4-0).
