Forward Jesse Puljujarvi was assigned to Bakersfield of the American Hockey League by the Edmonton Oilers on Monday.
Puljujarvi, chosen by the Oilers with the No. 4 pick in the 2016 NHL Draft, has a goal and eight points in 28 games. He played 3:27 in his last NHL appearance, a 4-3 win against the Boston Bruins on Jan. 5.

Puljujarvi, 18, scored 13 goals with 28 points for Karpat of the Finnish Elite League last season. He helped Finland win a gold medal at the 2016 IIHF World Junior Championship by leading the tournament with 17 points (five goals, 12 assists) in seven games.
The Oilers also placed goalie Jonas Gustavsson on waivers. Signed to a one-year contract on July 1, Gustavsson, 32, was 1-3-1 with a 3.10 goals-against average and .878 save percentage in seven games (five starts).
Forward Anton Slepyshev was recalled from Bakersfield.
