Edmonton scores five times in second period to beat Moose Jaw 5-3 @NHLdotcom

MOOSE JAW, Sask. - The Edmonton Oil Kings rode a five-goal second period to a 5-3 win over the Moose Jaw Warriors in WHL action Wednesday night.

Brenden Dowd, Brent Raedeke, Robin Figrin, Craig McCallum and Brett Breitkreuz each scored goals in the second period, giving the Oil Kings (9-8-1-2) the lead they wouldn't surrender. Goaltender Dalyn Flette stopped 29 shots to earn the victory, Edmonton's first in three games.

Moose Jaw (9-5-3-1) answered with goals from Giffen Nyren, Terrance Delaronde and Brad Riege. Joey Perricone and Todd Mathews stopped a combined 26 shots in the loss.
