Oilers new jerseys

The Edmonton Oilers are going back to their roots.

On Thursday, the Oilers announced their jerseys will return to the original royal blue primary color for the 2022-23 season.
The announcement was made on Twitter featuring a close up video of the iconic jerseys with the text "A Classic Returns."

Edmonton will sport the royal blue jerseys during home games and the white jerseys during away games. The orange jerseys will remain as the team's alternate uniform.
The Oilers' 2022 draft picks will wear the jerseys after being selected on Thursday and Friday in Montreal.
Oilers legend Wayne Gretzky approved of the return to the orginal jerseys

Gretzky sported the royal blue jerseys during the four Stanley Cup championships he won with the Oilers in the 1980s.
