OILERS (2-4-0) at FLYERS (4-3-0)

1 p.m. ET; NBCSP, SNW, NHL.TV

The Game

The Philadelphia Flyers' lineup remains in flux for their game against the Edmonton Oilers at Wells Fargo Center on Saturday.

Forwards Wayne Simmonds, Jordan Weal and Taylor Leier were given a maintenance day Friday and did not practice. Each is considered a game-time decision.

Weal did not play in a 1-0 loss to the Nashville Predators on Thursday because of an upper-body injury. Simmonds missed the final 3:21 of the second period after being hit in the face by the stick of Predators defenseman Mattias Ekholm but returned for the third period.

Oilers forward Leon Draisaitl practiced Friday but won't play Saturday. He'll miss his fourth straight game because of an eye injury and concussion symptoms.

Players to watch

Oilers center Connor McDavid has five assists in his past four games. In four games against the Flyers he has six points (two goals, four assists).

Shayne Gostisbehere of the Flyers is tied for the lead among NHL defensemen with 10 points (one goal, nine assists) in seven games, and has seven points (one goal, six assists) in a three-game point streak.

They said it

"The effect he can have on the game isn't always evaluated with goals, assists and points. You don't happen to get anything in the stats for breaking up a rush or backchecking or running interference on a pass through the slot … picking a pass off on the penalty kill. When you watch the game, you review it, and his teammates see him do it, it's noticed and appreciated." -- Oilers coach Todd McLellan on center Ryan Nugent-Hopkins

"You have to be aware of him, he's the best player in the NHL for a reason. We're just going to be aware when he's on the ice and expect him to do what he does. We're going to go out there and stick to our game plan." -- Flyers defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere on playing against Oilers center Connor McDavid
