OILERS (21-13-7) at SENATORS (20-14-4)
7 p.m. ET; SN, TVA Sports, NHL.TV
Oilers team scope
The Edmonton Oilers have won two games in a row and have points in 14 of their past 17 games (9-3-5). They will end a four-game road trip against the Ottawa Senators on Sunday in which the Oilers are 2-1-0. "I think [our road record (12-6-5)] speaks to change and turnover; we're better equipped to play on the road physically and mentally," coach Todd McLellan said. "We're getting better performances out of players and, knock on wood, we've stayed healthy. We played a lot of road games early last year without some key people, and it's hard to win games when you don't have your big horses up and running." The Oilers have the fourth-ranked power play on the road (18-for-68, 26.5 percent). Goaltender Jonas Gustavsson will start in net.
Senators team scope
The Senators have lost four games in a row (0-3-1) for the first time this season. "We're playing strong defensively," forward Kyle Turris said. "We're not giving up much. We're outshooting teams. We just have to capitalize on our opportunities and get back to doing that to win those one-goal games." The Senators have scored three goals in their past three games and their power play is 0-for-14 during the losing streak. Coach Guy Boucher said forward Bobby Ryan, who was a scratch on Saturday for a 1-0 loss to the Washington Capitals, will play against the Oilers, but would not elaborate on the reason why he was scratched. "There are complex things that don't need to be said out here," Boucher said.
