oilers goalie

There was no doubt who would get the coveted Edmonton Oilers motorcycle vest on Saturday.

The Oilers give the vest to the player of the game each night and on Saturday it was clearly going to Emergency Backup Goalie (EBUG) Matt Berlin.
Pressed into duty after goalie Stuart Skinner came down with an illness early in the day, the University of Alberta junior actually saw some ice time - the
final 2:26 of a 7-3 victory
against the Chicago Blackhawks at Rogers Place.
After the game there were nothing but cheers from his brand-new Oilers teammates as he was presented with the vest.

The vest is decorated with many patches, including one honoring the memories of former forward Colby Cave and young superfan Ben Stelter.
Berlin made one save with 48 seconds left in the game, turning aside a Caleb Jones shot with his blocker.
His NHL career save percentage is now 1.000.
