McDavid to have hearing for actions in Oilers game against Islanders

Center facing discipline for illegal check to head of Leddy @NHLdotcom

Connor McDavid will have a hearing with NHL Department of Player Safety on Friday.

The Edmonton Oilers center is facing discipline for an illegal check to the head of New York Islanders defenseman Nick Leddy on Thursday.

The incident occurred in the Oilers' zone at 17:38 of the first period during Edmonton's 4-3 overtime victory at Rogers Place. McDavid received a two-minute minor penalty for an illegal check to the head. Leddy returned in the second period and finished the game.

The following grounds are being considered for supplemental discipline: Illegal Check to the Head. However, the Department of Player Safety retains the right to make adjustments to the infraction upon review.
