WILKES BARRE, Pa. - Eddie Pasquale made 27 saves as the St. John's IceCaps blanked the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins 2-0 in American Hockey League action Saturday.
Aaron Gagnon's goal in the first period stood as the winner for St. John's (39-19-8), while Jason Gregoire added some insurance when he scored midway through the second.
Scott Munroe stopped 19 shots for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (38-22-7).
The IceCaps were 0-for-2 on the power play, while the Penguins went 0-for-3 with the man advantage.
St. John's padded its lead in the AHL's Atlantic Division, while Wilkes-Barre/Scranton remains in second in the East.
The Penguins have been shut out in back-to-back games after a 1-0 loss to the Binghamton Senators on March 23.
