Eddie Cahill - Ouch.

Blog 4 - Wednesday, April 29

Well, I didn't see that coming.  I swore (once the Rangers went up 3-1) that it was just a matter of time before they closed the series out and moved on.  As much as I try not to listen to the statistics that the "heads" dig up in these moments ("only X teams have ever come back from a 3-1 deficit...") it's hard not to be swayed when the figures they spew fall in favor of your team.  Ouch.

I really thought that despite their issues, our Rangers would pull through the first round.  It seemed that Lundqvist would be enough to ensure that.  No, it wasn't ideal to have to pin so much hope on one player, but it looked like it might work this time.  Ouch.  That being said, I wouldn't rush to blame Henrik for the outcome of this series.  There just wasn't enough going on in front of him to put the nail in the coffin, and in the end the more balanced team emerged. Congratulations to the Caps and their fans.  Ouch.

Well Friends, this was a difficult season that ended with an incredibly tough loss.  It's gonna take some time to shake this one.  We were sooooo close!

I'm saddened to end this year's blog feeling like we never hit a stride.  I hope next year we go much farther together.  Like Cup further.

In the meantime check out my Buddy's website.
