MINSK, Belarus - Jordan Eberle scored the overtime winner to give Canada's under-18 men's hockey team a 6-5 exhibition win over Finland on Friday.
"It's a great feeling to put one in for the win," Eberle said. "The more we play together, the more we are gelling as a team and this is great news moving forward to the world championships."
Eberle, of Calgary, scored at 2:05 of the extra session. Cody Hodgson of Markham, Ont., scored twice while Matthew Duchene of Haliburton, Ont., Corey Trivino of Toronto and Nicola Deschamps of Delton, Que., added one goal apiece.
Teemu Hartikainen and Joonas Nattinen each scored twice for Finland. Erik Haula scored the other goal.
Canada goaltender Chris Carrozzi of Nepean, Ont., picked up the victory.
Pat Quinn is handling head coaching duties for Canada's entry in the April 13-23 tournament in Kazan, Russia. Canada opens the tournament Sunday against Germany.
Canada finished fourth last year.
