Eberle, Horcoff score 2 goals apiece to lead Oilers to 6-2 win over Predators @NHLdotcom

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Jordan Eberle had two goals and an assist and Shawn Horcoff scored twice to send the Edmonton Oilers to a 6-2 victory over the Nashville Predators on Tuesday night.

Ales Hemsky and Jeff Petry also scored, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Taylor Hall and Ryan Smyth each added a pair of assists and Devan Dubnyk made 30 saves for Edmonton.

Jordin Tootoo and Jonathon Blum scored for the Predators.

Nashville goalie Pekka Rinne gave up three goals on 13 shots in the first period and was replaced by Anders Lindback to start the second period.

The Oilers opened the scoring when Horcoff got control of a loose puck in the crease on the power play and backhanded it behind Rinne at 9:31 of the first period.

Hemsky skated past a Predators' defender and through the slot to take on Rinne one-on-one, firing a wrist shot over Rinne's left shoulder at 11:39.

Eberle closed out the first-period scoring at 15:51 with a wrist shot from inside the right circle that beat Rinne to his left side.

Nashville had a 5-on-3 advantage for 51 seconds in the second period, but Edmonton's penalty killers kept the lead intact.

The Oilers needed only five minutes to score in the third as Eberle skated around the right circle before beating Lindback.

Tootoo broke the shutout at 11:32 when he tipped in a slapshot by Shea Weber.

Petry scored the Oilers' second power-play goal at 12:22 of the third period and Horcoff added his second goal at the 15:03.

Blum scored with 20 seconds left to play.

Notes: Hemsky played in his 500th NHL game. ... Eberle leads the Oilers in assists with 14. ...This was the first regulation loss for the Predators in their last seven games on home ice. ... This was only the third game of the season for Lindback and his second loss. He stopped 16 shots.
