The EA SPORTS NHL 17 Cover Vote has reached the semifinals and fans can decide which players should move one step closer to appearing on the front of the video game cover.

This year eight superstars were selected to represent their NHL and 2016 World Cup of Hockey teams and compete to become the NHL 17 cover athlete.

The semifinal matchups are: Joe Pavelski, Team USA, San Jose Sharks vs. Connor McDavid, Team Canada, Edmonton Oilers; and Jamie Benn, Team Canada, Dallas Stars vs. Vladimir Tarasenko, Team Russia, St. Louis Blues.

Fans can vote here or by using the applicable hashtag of their favorite player on Twitter.

Every fan vote on social media counts double as part of Twitter Thursday. There is no limit on how many times you can vote.

Voting in the semifinals runs until 3 p.m. ET on May 9. The winners will advance to the final.

The cover athlete for EA SPORTS NHL 17 will be revealed at the 2016 NHL Awards in Las Vegas on June 22.
