EDMONTON - Dwight King had two goals and two assists as the Lethbridge Hurricanes hammered the Edmonton Oil Kings 7-0 in Western Hockey League action Tuesday night.
King and linemates Carter Bancks and Nick Hotson combined for eight points. Bancks had a goal and an assist, including the game-winner with 3:19 left in the first period as his wrist shot deflected off Oil King defenceman Brent Henke and past netminder Alex Archibald.
King doubled the Hurricane's lead just thirty-nine seconds into the second period, depositing a rebound off Zach Boychuk's shot through Archibald's legs.
King and Hotson supplied Lethbridge (34-15-2-3) with the third and fourth goals 46 seconds apart. King's second another rebound goal after a Mitch Fadden shot hit the post. Archibald was replaced by Dalyn Flette after the goal.
Flette had no chance Lethrbridge's fourth goal on Hotson's tip from a great pass by Bancks.
Boychuk added to the Hurricanes lead on a give-and-go play early in the third, lifting the puck top shelf over Flette, then assisted on Cam Braes goal later in the period, giving Boychuk a three point night.
Mitch Versteeg closed out the scoring with a rocket slapshot past Flette's blocker with 59 seconds remaining.
Juha Metsola made 22 saves for the win.
Archibald surrendered three goals on 21 shots for Edmonton (18-27-4-6), while Flette allowed four goals in 17 shots.
