Dustin Sylvester scores goal and assist to lead Ice over Broncos @NHLdotcom

CRANBROOK, B.C. - Dustin Sylvester had a goal and an assist to lead the Kootenay Ice to a 3-1 win over the Swift Current Broncos in WHL action Saturday night.

Kevin King opened the scoring at the tail end of a power-play at 7:09 of the first period after a giveway by Bronco goaltender Mark Guggenberger.

Sylvester scored his 35th of the season on a short-handed wrist-shot 5:07 into the second for the eventual game-winner, while Ice leading scorer Steve Da Silva got his 38th exactly four minutes later to give the Ice a 3-0 lead.

The Broncos broke Kris Lazaruk's shutout bid 5:05 into the third on Cody Eakin's 11th.

Lazaruk stopped 29 of 30 shots to get the win, while Mark Guggenberger turned aside 29 of 32 shots to take the loss.
