They don't call him Big Buff for nothing.
Winnipeg Jets defenseman Dustin Byfuglien stands at 6-foot-5, 265 pounds, bigger than most NHL players, as evidenced on Monday when he bowled over three players at once in a game against the San Jose Sharks.
And, not surprisingly, it turns out it's been that way since he was a kid.
Playing in the famed Brick Super Novice Tournament for 10-year-olds in Edmonton, Byfuglien had a noticeable size advantage over his teammates and competition even back in 1995. And as has been the case during his pro career, Byfuglien's mix of size and skill made him stand out in the crowd.
For his efforts, he took some a sweet trophy and earned the No. 1 star.
