Anaheim Ducks forward Nate Thompson had successful surgery to repair two labral tears in his shoulder and will miss the next 5-6 months, the Ducks announced Friday.
Thompson, 30, had five goals and 18 points in 80 regular-season games in his first season with the Ducks. He had two goals and six points in 12 Stanley Cup Playoff games.
Thompson, an eight-season veteran, has 44 goals and 103 points in 471 regular-season games with the Boston Bruins, New York Islanders, Tampa Bay Lightning and Ducks. He has three goals and 10 points in 34 playoff games.
