Ducks sign Swedish League's top rookie @NHLdotcom

The Anaheim Ducks on Monday signed center William Karlsson, the Swedish Elite League's rookie of the year, to a three-year, entry-level contract. No financial terms were disclosed.

Karlsson, 20, was Anaheim's second-round pick (No. 53) in the 2011 NHL Draft, and won this year's SEL rookie of the year with HV71. He scored four goals and added 24 assists along with a plus-17 rating in 50 games in the Elite League.

He also earned a silver medal with the Swedish team at the World Junior Championship one year after winning a gold medal at the WJC.
