Ducks says Getzlaf out indefinitely @NHL
The Anaheim Ducks say captain Ryan Getzlaf will be out indefinitely as the result of the sinus fractures he sustained after being hit in the face by a puck on Tuesday.

Getzlaf was seen Friday by a maxillofacial surgeon, and a CT scan showed that the nasal sinus fractures are non-displaced and stable. However, more evaluation of the bone breaks are needed over the next several days before a definitive expected absence can be determined.

Getzlaf, the Ducks' first-round pick in the 2003 Entry Draft, has 13 goals and 37 points in 40 games this season. The Ducks placed him on the injured reserve list Thursday.

He was injured in the second period Tuesday at Phoenix when a shot by Shane Doan deflected off the stick of Anaheim defenseman Cam Fowler and struck Getzlaf in the forehead. A pool of blood formed on the ice immediately before he was helped off the ice for attention.
