Ducks recall Mikkelson to replace injured Wisniewski @NHLdotcom
The Ducks today recalled defenseman Brendan Mikkelson from the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Mikkelson's recall comes after defenseman James Wisniewski suffered a sprained right shoulder late in Saturday's game at Philadelphia. He is listed as week-to-week.

Mikkelson, 22 (6/22/87), appeared in two games with the Marlies this season, collecting 0-1=1 point. He played five preseason games with the Ducks last month, earning 0-1=1 point with a +2 rating and four penalty minutes (PIM).

Selected in the second round (31st overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, Mikkelson scored 0-2=2 points with 17 PIM in 34 games with the Ducks last season. He made his NHL debut on Jan. 2, 2009 vs. Philadelphia and earned his first career NHL point with an assist in a 4-3 victory on Jan. 31, 2009 at Colorado. Mikkelson began the 2008-09 regular season with Anaheim’s AHL affiliate in Iowa, earning 2-8=10 points and 18 PIM in 31 games.
