Ducks recall Gibson, Mueller from AHL @NHL

The Anaheim Ducks have recalled goaltender John Gibson and center Chris Mueller from the San Diego Gulls, Anaheim's primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL). In addition, the Ducks have reassigned center Michael Sgarbossa and defenseman Shane O'Brien to San Diego.

Gibson, 22 (7/14/93), has posted a 16-8-0 record with two shutouts, a 2.45 goals against average (GAA) and .919 save percentage (SV%) in 26 career NHL games with Anaheim. Gibson began the season in San Diego, going 7-4-1 with a 2.63 GAA and .917 SV% in 13 games. Among AHL goaltenders, Gibson ranked first in saves (374), tied for sixth in wins, tied for 10th in shutouts (1) and second in minutes played (774:43). The 6-3, 227-pound goaltender was selected by Anaheim in the second round (39th overall) of the 2011 NHL Draft.
