Anaheim prospect Sam Steel (2016, 30th overall) of the Regina Pats was named the Memorial Cup MVP after leading all skaters in points (13, 2g/11a) and assists in five games. Steel's five assists (all primary) Wednesday vs. Swift Current tied a Memorial Cup record for assists in a single game, held by Jonathan Drouin (Halifax Moosehead - May 26, 2013) and Dan Hodgson (Prince Albert - May 14, 1985).

Steel, who also scored the game-winning goal in a 4-2 Semi-Final win vs. Hamilton on Friday, recorded 338 points (123g/215a) with a +78 rating in 258 career WHL regular-season games with Regina.
Ducks prospect Antoine Morand (2017, 60th overall) assisted on the game-winning goal in the Memorial Cup Championship game to help lead Acadie-Bathurst to a 3-0 tournament-clinching victory against host Regina on Sunday night in Saskatchewan.
Regina's Josh Mahura (2016, 85th overall) ranked tied for third among Memorial Cup leaders in points (seven, 2g/5a) and assists, while also co-leading tournament defensemen in scoring.
