Ducks get permission to speak with MacLean: report @NHLdotcom

The Anaheim Ducks have been granted permission by the Ottawa Senators to speak with Paul MacLean about their vacant assistant coaching job, ESPN's Pierre LeBrun reported Saturday.

MacLean was fired as Senators coach on Dec. 8 after an 11-11-5 start. He was 114-90-35 from 2011-14 with Ottawa before being replaced by Dave Cameron.

Anaheim, which lost to the Chicago Blackhawks in the Western Conference Final in seven games, fired assistant coach Brad Lauer last Tuesday.
