Ducks forward Maroon leaves with lower-body injury

BUFFALO -- The Anaheim Ducks announced forward Patrick Maroon left the game against the Buffalo Sabres on Monday with a lower-body injury and will not return.

Maroon was injured after he took a hit from Sabres defenseman Josh Gorges at 11:10 of the second period. No penalty was called on the play.

Maroon started the game on the Ducks first line with captain Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry, and assisted on Perry's power play goal at 15:30 of the first period.
