ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) -Chris Pronger scored his first two goals of the preseason, including the game-winner 3:04 into overtime, giving the Anaheim Ducks a 3-2 victory over the Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday night.
Pronger won it with a high backhand shot past goalie Erik Ersberg on the stick side into the left corner of the net after getting a pass in stride from Teemu Selanne.
Anaheim goalie Jean-Sebastien Giguere made 26 saves to outduel Ersberg, who made 27 stops for the Kings (3-0-3).
The Ducks (4-1-1) struck first with a goal 59 seconds into the game when Pronger scored on a soft wrist shot from the point that appeared to fool Ersberg, who was partially screened by Kings defenseman Jack Johnson.
Power-play goals by Michal Handzus and Brian Boyle just 2:20 apart in the second period gave Los Angeles a 2-1 lead.
Chris Kunitz tied it at the 13:40 mark of the period with a power-play goal off a give-and-go with Brendan Morrison, who made his first appearance for the Ducks since signing as a free agent from the Vancouver Canucks.
Morrison, who signed a one-year, $2.75-million deal, is coming back from surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, an injury sustained March 27 when he was taken into the boards by Colorado defenseman Ruslan Salei.
The Kings used a lineup full of youngsters as forwards Anze Kopitar, Dustin Brown and Jarret Stoll got the night off. So did defenseman Sean O'Donnell, who has yet to dress for the Kings in two preseason games since being acquried from the rival Ducks on Tuesday.
