Duchesne leads Team Ontario to 8-1 win over Finland at U-17 Hockey Challenge @NHLdotcom

LONDON, Ont. - Matthew Duchesne scored twice as Team Ontario remained unbeaten with an 8-1 drubbing of Finland at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge on Sunday.

Duchesne had two of Ontario's three first-period goals as the 2007 Canada Winter Games champions improved to 2-0, good for top spot in Group A. Duchesne added an assist on Andrew Agozzino's third goal of the tournament, which made it 5-0 midway through the second period.

Taylor Hall, Ryan Martindale, Casey Cizikas, Tyler Randell and Zach Kassian added singles in the Ontario victory, while Michael Zador stopped 37 shots in goal.

Teemu Pulkkinen's fourth goal of the tournament midway through the third period provided the lone offence for the Finns (1-1).

In Sunday's other Group A game, Brendan Silvester scored a pair of goals to lead Team Pacific (1-1) to a 6-2 victory over Slovakia (0-1).

In Group B action, Drew Shore's short-handed goal ignited a three-goal first period as the U.S. (2-0) earned a 6-2 win over Russia (0-1), while Scott Glennie and Jimmy Bubnick each scored twice as Team West (2-0) rallied for a 7-4 triumph over Team Atlantic (0-2).
