Highly regarded 2013 NHL Draft prospect Jonathan Drouin of the Halifax Mooseheads returned to the lineup with a vengeance on Wednesday before 6,634 fans at the Halifax Metro Centre.
Drouin, who was sidelined the previous six games with an upper-body injury, connected for two goals and two assists to help lead the Mooseheads to a 6-2 victory over the Drummondville Voltigeurs.
Drouin, who scored a shorthanded goal in the third, assisted on a pair of goals by center Nathan MacKinnon. Drouin and MacKinnon are ranked as A skaters on NHL Central Scouting's preliminary players to watch list in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
Drouin now has seven goals, 19 points and a plus-13 rating in eight games this season. MacKinnon not only leads the team with 17 goals and 26 points, but is riding an eight-game goal-scoring streak and 10-game point-scoring streak (13 goals, nine assists).
Goalie Zachary Fucale, rated an A goalie in the QMJHL by Central Scouting, earned the victory on Wednesday behind 16 saves for Halifax, winner of 11 straight and tops in the league.
