SWIFT CURRENT, Sask. - Chris Drieger made 24 saves and turned aside all three shootout attempts in a 4-3 win for the Calgary Hitmen over the host Swift Current Broncos on Tuesday in the Western Hockey League.
Drieger stopped Brad Hoban, Taylor Vause, and Ryon Moser, while Brooks Macek scored for the Hitmen in the shootout.
Hitmen captain Cody Sylvester scored twice for Calgary, while Victor Rask opened the scoring with a power-play goal for the Hitmen with his 10th of the season.
Broncos captain Taylor Vause, with his team leading 11th and 12th goals, scored twice for Swift Current, while Trevor Cameron scored late to send the game to overtime as the Broncos erased three one-goal deficits.
Driedger improved to 6-4-2 for the Hitmen. Jon Groenheyde stopped 31 of 34 shots to drop to 5-5-3 for Swift Current.
Calgary improved to 8-8-2 as its remain unbeaten in three games against the Broncos this season. Swift Current dropped to 7-9-3 with its first point against the Hitmen with only one game remaining in the season series.
