Drew Doughty is expected to be out eight weeks for the Los Angeles Kings because of a knee injury.

The defenseman was injured in a 3-2 overtime loss at the Dallas Stars on Friday when he took a knee-to-knee hit from Stars defenseman Jani Hakanpää, who received a five-minute major for kneeing and a game misconduct.
Kings general manager Rob Blake said Doughty has a tibial plateau contusion.
"Due to that hyperextension, the reason we delayed a little bit of the injury and timeline] was we wanted to get him home and get him looked at," Blake said Wednesday. Austin Strand
were recalled from Ontario of the American Hockey League on Wednesday. Clague has four assists in five AHL games this season and played for the Kings on Monday. Strand has scored two points (one goal, one assist) in four AHL games.
"We're going to use that depth now for sure," Blake said. "Obviously Austin Strand came in last game. Kale Clague was recalled here today. They'll be put into that lineup with an opportunity to play."
