Drake may be a mainstay in the Toronto sports scene, but the rapper showed deference to Mario Lemieux as his Summer Sixteen Tour took a stop at the home of the Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday.
When Drake arrived at Consol Energy Center to perform, Alexa Lemieux, Mario's 19-year-old daughter, presented him with a signed jersey from the Hockey Hall of Famer and Penguins owner.
"Alexa Lemieux coming through with the best gift ever! Thank you," Drake wrote on Instagram next to the picture of himself and Alexa Lemieux.
Drake wore a different Penguins jersey onstage while performing Wednesday, laying the gauntlet for the 12 remaining tour stops he will make at NHL arenas. This weekend, he'll perform at the homes of two of the Penguins' biggest rivals: the Washington Capitals and Philadelphia Flyers.
