Kyle Turris, C, Ottawa Senators
DraftKings price: $5,100
Turris is still getting his feet wet after returning from a nearly three-week absence because of an ankle injury, but Ottawa's game Wednesday at the Detroit Red Wings has against-the-grain upside written all over it. Detroit's Petr Mrazek has won seven of his past 10 games and is as stingy of a goalie (.933 save percentage this season) as you'll find in the NHL right now, but DraftKings comes down to one night. The Senators just acquired defenseman Dion Phaneuf, who's not eligible for DraftKings games just yet, but is expected to see major minutes alongside Cody Ceci on the second pair to spark Ottawa's offense. Turris played more than 19 minutes and mostly alongside Mike Hoffman ($5,700) and Bobby Ryan ($5,600) in his second game back after playing fewer than 16 minutes in his return. He's tailed off after a hot start but still has 30 points, 29 blocks and 117 shots on goal this season (2.9 DraftKings points per contest), including nine multipoint games and two goals in three games against the Red Wings. He should be on Ottawa's top power-play unit and is off the radar, priced $800 cheaper than he was one month ago ($5,900 on Jan. 10).
Shane Doan, W, Arizona Coyotes
DraftKings price: $4,500
You won't find much more potential bang for your buck than Doan at home against the Vancouver Canucks, who are on the second of a back-to-back set. Doan, who's tied for eighth in goals per 60 minutes this season among those with at least 40 games played, has 22 points and 60 SOG in 23 home games, and two goals and nine SOG in two games against the Canucks this season. It looked as if the third-line forward's stretch of nine goals and one assist in seven games from Dec. 22 to Jan. 4 could be a flash in the pan, but he has proved otherwise with 3.1 DraftKings points per contest in his past 10 games. He's the perfect FLEX option to get exposure to a game that should be relatively untapped compared to the two others Wednesday.
Keith Yandle, D, New York Rangers
DraftKings price: $4,800
Yandle is priced seventh among defensemen and below the $5,000 threshold, and there's little reason to take fliers on the cheaper, much more inconsistent options on this three-game Wednesday. Yandle did not earn a point in the Rangers' first full game without injured captain Ryan McDonagh, but he did log 25:19 of ice time with 8:06 on the power play. He had five SOG and three blocks for 4.0 DraftKings points. The Pittsburgh Penguins allow the seventh-most DraftKings points to opposing defensemen and Yandle is due for a shooting percentage correction on the road, where he has two goals on 59 SOG, and also on the power play, where he only has one such goal this season.
Louis Domingue, G, Arizona Coyotes
DraftKings price: $6,600
The Coyotes have hit their rough patch, but their goaltender should be valued in DraftKings somewhere in the middle of his hot start and his stretch of 15 goals allowed in his past three games -- two of which came against division leaders in the Los Angeles Kings and Chicago Blackhawks. He has two home shutouts and defeated the Canucks earlier in the season, making 35 saves on 37 shots faced for 10.0 DraftKings points. The Canucks allow the second-most DraftKings points to opposing goalies, so Domingue is ripe for a bounce-back showing. With the Nashville Predators, Colorado Avalanche and Minnesota Wild struggling, the Coyotes are still in contention in the wild card race into the Stanley Cup Playoffs from the Western Conference, four points out of playoff position with at least one game in hand on each of those teams. Domingue is the cheapest projected goalie by $400, allowing you to spend your money elsewhere in the hope that he gets you the win bonus, which he has in nine of his 17 starts this season.
