Sean Monahan, C, Calgary Flames
DraftKings price: $5,800
The Flames are one of eight teams with 100 or more home goals entering Thursday, and linemates Johnny Gaudreau and Monahan are largely responsible, combining for 32. Gaudreau is fifth among wings in price, but Monahan is ninth among centers in cost. Monahan has 32 points in 33 games at Scotiabank Saddledome this season and 3.8 DraftKings points per game in his past 10 (nine points, six blocks, 26 shots on goal). He has nine SOG in his past two games and faces the Arizona Coyotes, who allow the most DraftKings points to opposing centers.
Teuvo Teravainen, W, Chicago Blackhawks
DraftKings price: $3,900
Teravainen has assists in four of his past five games with 10 SOG. He's playing on Chicago's second power-play unit and should remain there based on recent performance when Marian Hossa returns to the lineup from injury. Andrew Shaw is likely the odd man out because Andrew Ladd's net-front expertise is too valuable. Teravainen and the Blackhawks visit the Dallas Stars, who are tied for third in the NHL with 40 wins entering Thursday but also are tied for the fifth-worst team save percentage (.902). Nine of Teravainen's 29 points have come with the man-advantage, and his performance in his past 10 games (2.8 DraftKings points per contest) is much better than his season average (2.1).
Seth Jones, D, Columbus Blue Jackets
DraftKings price: $5,200
Jones has 15 points (seven on power play) in 26 games since joining the Blue Jackets after 11 (four on power play) in 40 games with the Nashville Predators. His shooting percentage is extremely low (two goals on 124 SOG; 1.6 percent), but he's bound for a correction and is closing in on 100 blocks (90 through 66 games). He's averaging 24:07 minutes per game with Columbus, opposed to 19:38 with Nashville, resulting in better peripheral DFS coverage. He's tied for 11th among D-men in DraftKings price.
Jake Allen, G, St. Louis Blues
DraftKings price: $7,700
Allen, tied for eighth among goalies in price, has allowed two goals in five of his seven games since returning from injury. He has won four straight and faces the Anaheim Ducks, who have lost two in a row. Even with the Ducks' turnaround in recent months, they are allowing the fourth-most DraftKings points to opposing goalies this season. Allen has a .925 SV% with two shutouts at Scottrade Center and is 3-0-0 with a .966 SV% in his career against Anaheim.
