Each day this season, NHL.com's fantasy staff will provide daily picks for DraftKings NHL contests. This article includes expensive and value plays and should be used as a basis for your roster decision-making.

TOP CENTER: Vincent Trocheck, FLA ($6,200)
Trocheck, seventh among centers in price despite being second at the position in DraftKings points per game (3.7), has 26 points and is averaging 3.1 shots on goal in 23 games since Dec. 28. The Florida Panthers swept their five-game road trip and return home to face the Edmonton Oilers, who will be on the second of a back-to-back set. Trocheck, who scored a goal against Edmonton on Jan. 18, is on a six-game point streak (three goals, five assists).

VALUE CENTER: Ryan Spooner, BOS ($3,600)
Spooner centers the Boston Bruins' third line and plays frequently on their first power-play unit (12 power-play points). He has points in three straight games, and has eight points and 24 SOG in his past 10. Seven of his nine goals this season have come on the road, where he faces the Anaheim Ducks. Spooner has a similar DraftKings points per game average (2.3) to wings Jaromir Jagr (2.4; $4,800) and Milan Lucic (2.4; $4,100), yet is significantly cheaper.
TOP WING: Jakub Voracek, PHI ($6,100)
Voracek provides a heavy shot volume (194) and excellent home splits with 32 points and 129 SOG in 30 games. He's priced eighth among wings despite being fifth at the position in DraftKings points per game (3.7). The Washington Capitals may be a daunting opponent for the Philadelphia Flyers, but Voracek has scored 12 of his 15 goals at home and should return value based on SOG alone. He's a top-notch PPP producer (19) and has 19 points in 27 career regular-season games against the Capitals.

VALUE WING: Jonathan Marchessault, FLA ($4,600)
Let's step back and take a look at Marchessault's body of work this season; he has 35 points (17 goals, 18 assists), 12 PPP and 125 SOG in 51 games. That's a better points-per-game average (0.69) than Corey Perry (0.66; $6,300) who's priced significantly higher. The Panthers forward has 19 points in 24 home games and had an assist against the Oilers on Jan. 18.
TOP DEFENSEMAN: Torey Krug, BOS ($5,200)
Krug and John Carlson have the same DraftKings points-per-game average (3.1), yet Krug is $800 cheaper. Take full advantage of the discrepancy by drafting Krug, who is covering all three major daily fantasy categories of late with eight points, 12 blocks and 27 SOG in his past 10 games (3.7 DraftKings points per game). He has a five-game point streak (one goal, five assists) and had 5.0 DraftKings points against the Ducks on Dec. 15.

VALUE DEFENSEMAN: Aaron Ekblad, FLA ($4,300)
Ekblad had a productive road trip with a goal, two assists, four blocks and 15 SOG in the five-game span (3.3 DraftKings points per game; season average: 2.7). He is bound for an eventual shooting percentage uptick at home, where he has three goals on 90 SOG (3.3 percent). His lone multipoint game of the season came against the Oilers (two assists; 6.5 DraftKings points).
GOALIE SPOTLIGHT: Tuukka Rask, BOS ($7,400)
Rask, fourth among the six goalies in DraftKings price for Wednesday, has a good chance to return value for the Bruins on the road against the Ducks. He has won three straight with a combined four goals allowed, and the Ducks have scored a combined five goals in their past four games. Rask is 15-6-4 with a .922 save percentage and three shutouts on the road, and 8-4-0 with a .936 SV% and two shutouts against the Western Conference.
