Each day this season, NHL.com's fantasy staff will provide daily picks for DraftKings NHL contests. This lineup has been constructed with expensive and value picks and should be used as a basis for your roster decision making.
C - John Tavares, NYI ($7,600)
Tavares is a logical daily fantasy target against the Toronto Maple Leafs at home, where he has 28 points in 30 games. He has been thriving offensively in recent weeks, averaging 6.1 DraftKings points per game in his past 10 games. The Maple Leafs have allowed 16 goals in their past three games.

C - Claude Giroux, PHI ($6,300)
The Philadelphia Flyers offense has been inconsistent but still has plenty of talent on its side and single-game upside at home against the St. Louis Blues. Giroux has 22 points in 27 home games and the Blues are allowing the seventh-most DraftKings points to opposing centers. He should return value on the first line and top power-play unit with Jakub Voracek.
W - Mitchell Marner, TOR ($6,000)
Marner is riding a three-game point streak with at least 4.5 DraftKings points in each game. The New York Islanders have been playing much better since Doug Weight took over as coach but have allowed 10 goals in their past two games. Marner plays alongside high-volume shooter James van Riemsdyk, making him a daily threat for assists (31, T-13th in NHL).
W - Evander Kane, BUF ($5,200)
Regardless of which goalie you draft, you should consider taking Kane, who has a strong chance of returning value every night in daily fantasy based on his high shot volume alone. He has eight points and 43 SOG in his past 10 games, and at least three SOG in nine of the games. The physical wing has also been chipping in plenty of offense on the road with 15 points in 19 such games.

W - Anders Lee, NYI ($5,000)
Lee has 11 points, five power-play points and 43 SOG in his past 10 games playing on the top line and first power-play unit with Tavares and Josh Bailey. He scored 11 goals and 80 SOG in 29 home games and had back-to-back multipoint games against the Detroit Red Wings and Carolina Hurricanes.
D - Ivan Provorov, PHI ($4,600)
With Flyers defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere expected to be a healthy scratch again Monday, expect Provorov to be tasked with 23:00 or more against the Blues at home. Provorov's scoring has cooled off lately but his peripherals are stronger than ever; he has 20 blocks and 29 SOG in his past 10 games.
D - Johnny Boychuk, NYI ($4,300)
Boychuk doesn't score much, but has a booming shot that can lead to goals from the point on any given night. He has 30 SOG in his past nine games and has scored five of his six goals at home. Toronto is allowing the most DraftKings points per game to opposing defensemen.
G - Cory Schneider, NJD ($7,600)
Schneider has been more like himself lately with a .928 save percentage in his past 10 games (4-2-3). He has two home shutouts this season and faces a Sabres offense that he held in check Nov. 12, stopping 21 of 23 shots faced for 5.2 DraftKings points. Ten of Schneider's 16 wins have come at Prudential Center.

UTIL - Miles Wood, NJD ($3,400)
Wood is a daily fantasy sleeper, priced $900 above the DraftKings minimum despite playing in a top-six role and producing 2.7 DraftKings points per game over his past 10. He had two assists against the Calgary Flames on Friday and two goals against the Flyers on Jan. 21. He's playing alongside Adam Henrique and Michael Cammalleri on the second line.
