DraftKings daily fantasy value picks for Nov. 22

by Eric Goodman / NHL.com

Each day during the 2015-16 season, NHL.com's fantasy staff will identify one player at each position worth owning in DraftKings daily fantasy hockey contests. Based on factors including but not limited to matchups, line combinations, power-play usage, statistical coverage and recent production, we'll provide you with lower-priced options that can help you build a winning lineup.

Players accumulate points in DraftKings for each goal (3 points), assist (2), shot on goal (0.5), blocked shot (0.5) and shootout goal (0.2). Bonuses are given for shorthanded points (1) and hat tricks (1.5). Goalies accumulate points for each win (3) and save (0.2), and lose a point for each goal allowed. Goalie bonuses are given for a shutout (2) where the goalie completes the entire game with no goals allowed in regulation (and overtime, if applicable). Shootout goals will not prevent a shutout, and goalies will receive points for any goals or assists they score in a game. Penalty minutes, hits, plus-minus and PP points DO NOT count in DraftKings. DraftKings lineups must include nine players (2 C, 3 W, 2 D, 1 G, 1 FLEX) and fit within the $50,000 salary cap.

NOTE: These picks include players from evening games only. This does not include players from the 1 p.m. ET game between the
Los Angeles Kings and Carolina Hurricanes.

DraftKings price: $4,800

Fresh off a five-point night (one goal, four assists) in a 6-3 win against the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday; Sedin will try to extend his point streak to four when the Canucks host the New Jersey Devils. The first-line center has 11 points (three goals, eight assists) in his past six games with six blocked shots and 12 shots on goal. The Canucks captain is averaging a point per game at home this season with two goals and seven assists in nine games, and has also been very good against the Devils in his career with 14 points (two goals, 12 assists) and 23 shots on goal in 16 games.

Daniel Sedin, W, Vancouver Canucks

DraftKings price: $6,700

Linking Daniel with his twin brother Henrik in DraftKings contests Sunday is highly recommended since the Swedish pair has been unstoppable despite the Canucks' 2-3-1 record in their past six games. Daniel was the beneficiary of three of Henrik's four assists Saturday when he had a hat trick on four shots on goal and assisted on Henrik's goal against the Blackhawks. Daniel is in the midst of a four-game point streak and, like Henrik, has 11 points (six goals, five assists) in his past six games. Vancouver's alternate captain has eight points (five goals, three assists) and 23 shots on goal in nine home games this season, and has 11 points (four goals, seven assists) with 23 shots on goal in 16 career games against New Jersey.

Ryan Murray, D, Columbus Blue Jackets

DraftKings price: $3,300

Since it's likely that the Sedins can be selected by a large amount of DraftKings owners; taking a lower-priced depth defenseman can help move teams up the respective contest standings Sunday. Murray has three assists and 12 blocked shots in his past five games. He performed well against the San Jose Sharks, the Blue Jackets' opponent Sunday, with a goal, assist, one blocked shot and one shot on goal in a 5-2 road victory on Nov. 3.

Sergei Bobrovsky, G, Columbus Blue Jackets

DraftKings price: $7,000

On a light night in the NHL, it is important to select a goalie that has a chance to earn a win for your DraftKings team but also won't likely be taken by a majority of owners. The Russian goalie is in the midst of a four-game win streak including a 4-0 shutout in his last game Friday against the visiting Nashville Predators. Bobrovsky has been great against the Sharks in his career with a 5-1-2 record, 269 saves on 289 shots and a 2.46 goals-against average in eight starts.
