Cam Morrison 2

Youngstown left wing Cameron Morrison, a projected second- or third-round pick in the 2016 NHL Draft, was named the United States Hockey League Rookie of the Year on Tuesday.
Morrison (6-foot-2, 200 pounds), No. 46 on NHL Central Scouting's final ranking of North American skaters eligible for the 2016 draft, led all rookies with 34 goals and 66 points in 60 regular-season games for the Phantoms. He was second in league scoring and finished third in goals.

"Looking back on the year, I'm very thankful for all the staff and my teammates who were there to support me," Morrison told the Phantoms website. "I believe the [USHL] developed me into a college ready player for next year, and no other league in the world could do as much as the USHL did for me this year."
Morrison will continue his career at the University of Notre Dame in 2016-17.
Morrison is the first Youngstown player to win USHL Rookie of the Year since the franchise joined the USHL prior to the 2009-10 season.
