Domi and Griffith lead London Knights over Kitchener Rangers 4-3 @NHLdotcom

KITCHENER, Ont. - Max Domi and Seth Griffith each had a goal and an assist as the London Knights beat the Kitchener Rangers 4-3 on Sunday in Ontario Hockey League action.

The Knights (16-5-2) won their eighth game in a row and halted the Rangers (14-7-2) home winning streak to start the season at nine.

Kyle Platzer and Kevin Raine also scored for the Knights, while Olli Maatta chipped in with a pair of assists.

Curtis Meighan, Josh Sterk and Tobias Rieder scored for the Rangers, and Justin Bailey picked up two assists.

London goalie Kevin Bailie turned aside 31 of 34 shots for the win, while John Gibson absorbed the loss, turning aside 33 shots.

London was 1-for-2 on the power play, while Kitchener failed to score on three opportunities with the man advantage.

Meighan opened the scoring before the midway mark of the first period, redirecting Justin Bailey?s pass from the side boards past Bailie.

Griffith, the Knights? leading scorer, tied the game with 41 seconds remaining in the period, burying Domi?s feed to the side of the crease over Gibson.

Domi, the first star of the game, gave the Knights the lead with a power-play goal at 17:44 of the second period, as he had Maatta?s blocked shot bounce right onto his stick at the side of the net and he swiped it in.

Sterk tied the game 2:03 into the third period, beating Bailie when left alone in front of the London net, but Platzer scored just over a minute later as Gibson???s clearing shot hit Jacob Jammes and bounced onto Platzer???s stick with the net open.

Raine gave the Knights some breathing room by snapping Chris Tierney???s pass to the point past Gibson, before Rieder knocked in a rebound with five minutes remaining to get the Rangers within a goal.

Maatta picked up an interference penalty with 2:05 remaining but the Rangers couldn???t capitalize.
