KELOWNA, British Columbia (AP) -Disgruntled Ottawa Senators forward Dany Heatley is breaking his silence about his rocky relationship with the team.
The 28-year-old left winger, who has been in limbo since requesting a trade in the spring, will speak Friday in Kelowna, British Columbia, where he lives during the offseason.
The Edmonton Oilers tried to acquire Heatley in a trade last month, but he refused to waive his no-trade clause. Heatley requested a trade one season into a six-year, $45-million contract extension, but has yet to publicly say why he wants out of Ottawa.
Heatley, who scored 50 goals in the 2006-07 and 2007-08 seasons - his first two with the Senators after being traded by Atlanta - will take part in the Canadian Olympic team orientation camp that starts Monday in Calgary, Alberta.
