Devils tie Penguins atop Atlantic Division with 3-1 victory over Flyers @NHLdotcom

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) - Mike Rupp and Travis Zajac scored late in the second period Friday to lead the New Jersey Devils to a 3-1 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers.

Jay Pandolfo added an empty-net goal with 15.6 seconds remaining, and Martin Brodeur made 14 saves to earn his 45th win.

The victory ended the Devils' five-game losing streak at home and moved New Jersey into a tie with the Pittsburgh Penguins atop the Atlantic Division. The Penguins and Devils each have 100 points with four games to play.

The Devils continued their mastery of the Flyers, improving to 6-1 against Philadelphia this season. New Jersey has won eight straight over Philadelphia at the Continental Airlines Arena.

Simon Gagne scored for the Flyers, who have dropped five of their last six.
