Devils' Tootoo has surgery, out for season

Forward sidelined by wrist injury had nine points, 99 hits @NHLdotcom

New Jersey Devils right wing Jordin Tootoo will miss the remainder of the season after having successful surgery on Friday to repair a tear in the sheath covering a tendon in his right wrist.

Tootoo, 33, has four goals, nine points, 99 hits and 102 penalty minutes in 66 games for the Devils this season. He hasn't played for the Devils since March 10.

Tootoo has 63 goals, 158 points and 982 penalty minutes in 12 seasons in the League with the Nashville Predators, Detroit Red Wings and Devils.

New Jersey trails the Philadelphia Flyers by seven points for the second wild card into the Stanley Cup Playoffs from the Eastern Conference. The Flyers have two games in hand.
