Day of Giving 2018

Thanks to the generous donation of toys from our loyal Devils fans and our partnership with Mayor Baraka & the City of Newark, Devils and Prudential Center staff were able to bring pure holiday cheer to more than 3,000 Newark youth on Thursday, December 13.

This holiday event was in support of our community giveback initiative known as GIVE 82 presented by United Airlines. The initiative encourages Devils and Prudential Center employees to volunteer their time for a minimum of 82 hours throughout the year by giving back to those less fortunate.

The toys were set up at the JFK Recreational Center in Newark which hosted a four-hour event that welcomed local families. Each child in attendance received a minimum of two toys that were donated during our December 1 & 3 toy drives. Upon arrival, the children were greeted with fresh baked cookies courtesty of Locations Sports Brands who donated Mrs. Fields cookies for all to enjoy, and hot chocolate courtesy of Legends.

Devils alumni and MSG broadcaster, Ken Daneyko attended the event to help bring cheer, along with NJ Devil.

Devils rookie Brett Seney was also a part of the event, where he helped hand out presents to kids.

Devils radio broadcaster Matt Loughlin was in attendance to participate and give gifts to kids.

The event also featured face painters, magician, DJ Sir William, a snow maker, employees dressed in holiday-themed gear, and holiday decorations to create a fun and inviting, seasonal atmosphere. After attendees received their toys, there was candy for them courtesy of M&Ms while departing the event.
